A charming antique sampler dating from 1850 & made by Mary Oates, aged 11.
It has a lovely house motif plus Adam & Eve with the tree of knowledge.
The original frame is maple-veneer.
I photographed it out of the frame to show the condition. There are some losses to the edges of the fabric. a little of which is visible when in the frame. Over all though, still a very nice piece with plenty of interest.
IMPORTANT: if sending this outside the UK I will remove the glass from the frame to avoid risk of breakage damaging the embroidery. I can also send it without the frame to reduce shipping costs if preferred.
