A large piece of Victorian 'crazy' patchwork made from assorted silks & velvets in jewel colours. This was made in individual squares & then stitched together. The silks are backed onto cotton fabrics, as you can see from the reverse. There are a few pieces with damage, as you might expect from very old silk. However, the over all condition is still good for its age & the effect is very decorative & interesting.
